Barely brush, yet have next to perfect teeth

Before I ask, I want to let you know that this is a bad habit that I have that must be broken. For as long as my memory can recall, I have only ever flossed once a month and never used fluoride. But, I am always complimented by dentists when I go to see them about how beautiful my teeth look. I have never had any cavities in my life, nor was there any indication of one. My only problem is that my teeth are yellowed and often have some plaque. I’m just curious as to why this is? Could this be the lottery of dentistry? It could be that my saliva is more powerful at killing bacteria, or maybe I just make more. To be clear, I plan to brush more often in order not to lose my tooth color.
