New cosmetic dental crowns still sensitive after a month

I had six crowns placed for cosmetic purposes about a week ago. It’s the top front six teeth (sorry I don’t know the right way to name them). These are the front two teeth that are most sensitive to cold liquids.

I can’t drink anything cold without a straw. I can’t bite into anything cold (most recently watermelon).

Also, I feel that my new teeth are too close together. It is uncomfortable to floss. They can only be flossed with very thin, waxy floss.. My dentist told me about it and suggested that I use a waterpick instead.

I want to know if this is normal. Although I’m not in pain, my mouth is sometimes very sensitive to the point where crowns are unwise.
